I am pleased to welcome you to College of Life Sciences & Biotechnology, Korea University.

The College of Life Sciences & Biotechnology is the nation’s largest biotechnology college, consisting of the Departments of Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Food Bioscience and Technology, Environmental Science and Ecological Engineering, and Food and Resource Economics.
It is home to 100 full-time faculty members, 1,500 undergraduate students and 600 graduate students. Our college is an integrated bioengineering hub for KU, driving the creative and future-oriented progress of education, research and industry by fusing biotechnology, engineering and information technology.

Our college encompasses a wide spectrum of fields, ranging from animal, plant, microorganism and biomedicine to economics and business administration for bio-industry. As a center for the nation’s bioengineering studies, it also features active joint research and team teaching.
By promoting innovative, experiment-based educational content and infrastructure, the college is enhancing its research competitiveness while nurturing next-generation leaders in biotechnology through the operation of innovative academia-industry joint research programs.
As the leading partner in the BK21 plus program sponsored by the education ministry, the college is pioneering research and education in biotechnology in Korea and enhancing its already-respected brand value.
